| Our Featured Writer/Artist/Designer, Nicoletta Nicoletta began writing stories and poetry at age 11 because she liked the fact that she was able to name the characters. Her first novel, Blood At Midnight, was a Gothic Horror, she began at age 12 and completed at age 13. (She recently retrieved the manuscript and plans pursue publication.) Nicoletta wasn't a diligent writer, but following the demands of life wrote in segments only. Sometimes years passed without her pushing her creative pen. However, this being one of her two prominent talents, she always dreamed of writing full time. Nicoletta freelanced for several years with more rejections than acceptances. Other than personal experience, she had no formal training as a writer. Despite this, she was first published in 1994 in a local newspaper. It was fairly consistent thereafter. In 1997, she won the Editors' Choice Award For Outstanding Achievements In Poetry by the Poetic Genius League for her poem, Guardian Angel, written when she was 16 years old unedited. She was the recipient of the 2004 Silver Ribbon Readers' Choice Award by Vampire Tales for her poem, The Blood Countess. Early 2005 brought an offer to write the Castle Rock series for Fantasy Realm under an alternate pen name in which she accepted. And she subsequently accepted a similar offer from Twilight Dance which began February 2008 and ended February 2010. In June 2007, Nicoletta was presented with the Award Of High Excellence from Johans Literary Society for her poem, Christina. She received a Distinguished Acknowledgement from Noble Trail Magazine for her story, Dark October Sky. She has been described by fellow writers, publishers and editors as an incredible talent and her work as masterpieces of the macabre. Nicoletta attended a Catholic elementary/middle school and a public high school where her English Literature Teacher described her as a literary genius. She was a member of the Newspaper staff during her middle and high school years and won a First Place Award for her painting of a Christmas Nativity Scene. Although she claims to have been somewhat of a poor student (saying school stifled her creative expression), an intentional outcast and considered herself the least likely to succeed, she went on to graduate college Magna Cum Laude (with high honors). During her college years, she tutored other college students in History, Grammar and English Literature. She was a member of the Snow Ball Court for two consecutive years, and she was Vice President of the Student Government for one year. In the past, Nicoletta was employed as a paralegal, social worker and counselor. Today, Nicoletta owns a successful business owner working solely from home as a full-time writer, artist and designer. She's creator of the Divine Word Tarot and Divine Enchantments, a Christian Fantasy Product Line. She's currently writing two books and designing her second Christian Tarot Deck. She is also revising a novel-length dark fiction manuscripts that was completed in 1993. She has several ideas for non-fiction and dark fiction books that will take her writing well into the next decade. Nicoletta married in the 1990's and became a devoted mother two years later. She is of Celtic/Germanic heritage with her ancestry from Northern Italy, Ireland and Northern France. She directly descends from several centuries of High and Provincial Irish Royalty (Kings & Queens in her direct line). One of her dear friends described her as a combination of things that don't normally go together. She's self-describes as a "spiritual, Christ-based Catholic" (as opposed to rule-based Catholic) and a "conservative hippie". Her interests and hobbies include Christ; motherhood; animals, especially cats; nature; European History; olklore; religion/spirituality; combat archery; target shooting; antique dolls; collecting rare tarot decks; Gothic Art; creating magical items; homemaking. And she's a die-hard Narnia fan. Nicoletta's first-born child is following in her footsteps being a junior writer and artist. Her child holds a position on Distinguished Honor Roll with a 4.0 Grade Point Average. Nicoletta is a member of the Poetic Genius League, Literary Genius Society, and she and her child are members of the International High IQ Society and Mensa. I'm named after my dear maternal grandfather, Nicholas. Nicoletta means victorious. COPYRIGHT © 2011 MOONLIGHT ENCHANTMENTS. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
