Stairway To Magic is a brand new online magazine published by Moonlight Enchantments,
Christian Fantasy Publishers, and released through the Moonlight Enchantments website.
Stairway To Magic is a quality magazine promoting quality dark fantasy; Gothic, macabre and
supernatural horror; Christian Fantasy; and surreal science fiction through stories, narrative
poetry and artwork.
We are interested in some whimsical fantasy and folklore and some with a comic flair. We
also welcome non-fiction articles and essays with regards to the same genre as well as the
paranormal, angels, religion/spirituality and genre-related Medieval, Colonial or Victorian Historical
pieces.
Stairway To Magic will release three issues per year, two online (months yet to be determined)
with a year-end printed anthology. Beginning 2013, we will be a quarterly magazine with four
issues per year plus a printed, year-end anthology. We will have some contests and awards
during the year.
If you wish to submit to us, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Fiction:
We accept short stories, serials and flash fiction in the above-described genres. Short stories
should be 2,500 to 5,000 words; however, longer stories will be considered for serials so don't
feel limited to 5,000 words if you're inspired to submit a longer piece. Flash fiction should be
approximately 1,000 words. Slipstream, streampunk and speculative are welcome.
Poetry:
Poetry must fall under the above-described genre. Rhyming narratives are strongly encouraged
but any type or length of poetry is welcome.
Non-Fiction:
We accept informative essays and articles relating to the paranormal, religion/spirituality and
genre-related Medieval, Colonial or Victorian Historical pieces. Must be between 2,500 and
5,000 words. Any quoted material must be accompanied by permission releases. Source
indications should be included with the submission as well. If you have any questions, please

Artwork:
Christian Fantasy, Dark fantasy, Gothic Horror and surreal-world artwork is strongly encouraged.
We will consider anything that falls under these categories. Colorful and dramatic art is the best.
We also accept some paranormal photography so sends us what you have.
General Submission Information:
We don't accept shallow slash, blood and guts horror. Only quality work will be considered. No
erotica or pornographic material, including artwork. No child or animal cruelty. Nothing
anti-Christian or satanic. Nothing condemning any religion or ethnic group. If we receive material
of this nature, it will be thrown out without notice or consideration.
We don't accept unsolicited reviews.
No reprints. Original work only.
Writers and artist retain their rights. We don't hold you for any length of time. However, you will
be required to acknowledge a release allowing us to publish your work and a verification stating its
original.
Every issue is copyrighted and anyone who infringes on our copyrights will be found, exposed,
prosecuted and sued.
Send as many pieces as you'd like for consideration. Simultaneous submissions are accepted but
please inform us immediately if your story is accepted elsewhere.
We only accept electronic submissions. You may send it by Word attachment or through the
body of an email. All work must be double-spaced, 12 point, normal fonts (nothing fancy).
Artwork may be sent by email attachment. Please include your full name, pen name, reply email
address and home and cell phone numbers. If your work is accepted, we may ask for a brief bio.
Payment:
Stairway To Magic will be offering token monetary compensation. Token, yes, but
payment nonetheless! (Our obligation will be fulfilled by publishing your work.) As we grow, we
hope to offer more. In the meantime, being published by us means vast exposure as this
magazine is attached to our main website and viewable to millions of people worldwide. Further, it
will be promoted locally, nationally and internationally. Being published by us also gives you a
notch on your belt . . . Or resume. And you could truthfully say you're a professional writer since
payment is involved.
